Once a quiet fishing village community, Corralejo has developed into Fuerteventura's top resort popular with visitors from both UK and Europe. The main attraction lies in its ten kilometre long white sandy beaches backed by spectacular dunes, which cover approximately twenty square kilometres and have been designated a protected area. These magnificent sands are popular with sun-worshippers, windsurfers and nudists alike. The local beaches of Galera and Waikiki can be reached on foot. Travel further into the dunes by taxi or bus and a range of watersports including windsurfing and kitesurfing are to be found.
